Video competition

Yesterday I was at a networking function where I was impressed with what one of the founders said. People all look for exclusivity in a networking group and his comment was simply this. If all you are thinking about your competition then you are not thinking about your customer and creative ways in which to help them. I loved that. It was direct, simple and hopefully everyone understood that. At another function I had someone come by our display and hand over his card saying he was our competition. I looked at him directly and simply said, no, we have no competition. He insisted and I allowed him his insistance as it proved the point, simply that we have no competition. When we started out our company, the first thing we did was look at what others were doing. I was always amazed at the poor quality people were prepared to settle for. We come from film so we understand production value very well. Once someone is lit properly, then we shoot. Unfortunately, that is not what I am seeing out there. We look to make all of our customers not only look great, we love them to feel great. Everytime they step out of the studio, they are re energized as to what they do and how they do it. Its not that they have to convince us, they have to be convinced so they can be authentic with thier audience. Its all very simple for us. Remember that simple is hard when you are not looking at the details. We love a great performance, and a great performance begins with being authentic. I am rambling and that was not the intent. The intent is simply to affirm to everyone that the only competition you have is with yourself, to be the best you can be always. Secondly, always deal with a firm that gives you more than you expected. They are the ones who earned your business.
